Traces of shadows

Trace slipped through the mist as she looked for her cave. She had been in the misty forest for a while, and she had made a home there. Most wolves would think she was insane, for her daily routine included a supposed wolf of shadows. Trace blinked her blood red eyes as she came to a stop in front of a dark cave. "Is he here?" She whispered as she looked around. She stepped into the cave and sniffed the air. "The good life of a lone wolf." She sighed as she sat on a small patch of dried leaves. A small drop of water dripped off the roof and hit Trace. She shook her head. "I think he's coming tonight then." She said.

OOC: may i join as a ghost of shadow? He's the dead brother of Snowstar.

Shadow glided from tree to tree. He was a ghost with a very bad bloody side. It didn't hurt anymore, but it was there. He was sad and lonely since his sister had left when he fell asleep. Why had she left? He was talking to her when she did. Shadow did not know that he had died. He had felt the pain but it was over before he knew. He began to notice he was a ghost sooner or later but  couldn't remember. A cave? Good i'm very tired. He said. He slipped into it. He stopped abruptly when he saw a wolf. Snowstar? he said. He hoped it was, but the fur was to light for it to be his loving sister

Trace turned her head as she heard a noise. "Ash?" She asked hopefully. She groaned when she saw it was a wolf. But she noticed it was floating a little, and it was a little transparent. "Your a ghost!" She said. "Do you know about the shadow wolf Ash?" She asked. She assumed he was attached to the spirit world, so she couldn't help but ask.

Shadow heard this. His eyes brightened up when she had seen him. Ash the shadow wolf? Maybe i've heard of something like him, but his name wasn't Ash. Is he part of your family? I can't believe you see me! Shadow was just as happy as she was right now.

"Ash isn't part of my family, he was sort of the reason I had to leave. And cant all wolves see spirits? My brother should be able to see you as well, but I don't even know if he's alive." Trace said. She thought a little. "Ash has glowing red eyes, and he's made entirely out of shadow. He seems to speak with his mind. Ring a bell?" She asked. Suddenly the cave seemed to get darker. Trace turned around to see the wolf she just described. "Ash! I thought you were going to come this evening." She greeted. Ash blinked. "Don't talk to spirits just because you can, they could always be evil." He said. He grew some bit larger and glared at the ghost.

Shadow was very insulted. I. am. not. evil! he said spacing out his words. How was he evil? He was just a lonely spirit that lost his sister. He growled. Shadow's hackles raised and little dark flares were rising on his fur. His deep blue eyes glowed with anger. I won't hurt your friend... Ash? Is that really your name? He asked.

Ash disappeared as the ghost spoke. Trace growled. "Why did you make him leave?" She asked.

Shadow disappeared as well. He didn't want a fight, he was no hater. I'm sorry. his words bounced about in the cave.

Trace growled and slashed the wall, and the cave appeared to grow darker. "Ash was going to tell me about Alice." she said.

Shadow wasn't in the cave at the time. He heard her fit. He shook his head. He wished Snowstar were here to boss him around, to talk to him. He wished he were alive, so he could be with her. He didn't answer and hoped that Ash might come back and tell the wolf about Alice. Then he wouldn't here her mad at him. Snowstar seemed already mad at him, he didn't need someone holding a grudge against him now. He hovered slightley above the cave and listened to her.

Trace darted out of her cave, attacking anything that moved. She stopped and turned around, looking at the few prey carcasses on the ground. she started to eat the animals she had killed.

Shadow saw this and became completely transparent. He knew that ghosts can control whether or not they wanted people to see them. He hadn't known this when he had first died, so that's why Snowstar had never saw him. He learned the ability later on. This wolf was nothing like Snowstar and she was beginning to annoy him. She has such a temper he thought.

Trace trotted away to a clearing a little ways away. She curled up and soon fell asleep, and behind one of the trees you could faintly see something red glowing.

Shadow saw the red outline of Ash behind a tree. He became clear for all to see on accident. He had left this little trigger on since he found out how to use it. Stalker he thought.

A cold laughter rang through the forest. "My plan is working perfectly." Ash said as he disappeared in shadows.

Shadow saw this, he heard that. He became alarmed. I'm evil huh? shadow thought. Maybe he should warn her. But, he didn't know if she'd believe him or not. Whatever, this was serious, it was very serious to follow an evil spirits sway. He glided over to her, and tried to wake her. Wolf, your friend Ash is- he was saying but got cut off by a howl in the night. It was about this Alice character that the female was so desperate to know about! I have news of Alice! he said excitingly.

Trace woke up. "What." She said as she sat, her eyes still closed.

Shadow was smirking at her. Wolf, i have heard from your friend Alice. By the way i'd advise you to not go into Ash's destuctive plan for you. he said. He was purposefully fading out of view, he had seen Ash before. But he wasn't named Ash. He had been right.

Trace rolled her eyes. "No way am I gonna ever listen to you. Ash told me not to." She said as she growled. She was about to lash out.

Shadow made a face as he came back into view. I already told you not to trust Ash. And his name is not Ash. He just doesn't like me. He almost killed me. He's a spirit killer. Shadow said, annoyed. Dag gummit wolf just LISTEN he thought. He shook his head. Don't say i didn't warn you when your dead he said. He faded out.

After the ghost disappeared, Ash appeared again. "Trace, I've found a gathering of evil wolves, follow me and you can prove your worth, and find Alice." He said as he turned into a wisp of smoke. Trace followed the wisp through the forest, and out to another location. One of ice and trees.

Shadow growled. He silently followed them through the ever changing forests.
