Midnight laughed joyfully, and lay down. After he was done chuckling, he stood up, shaking dust and dead leaves off his black fur. He sighed, and blew a leaf off his shoulder. Midnight smiled at Jasmine and heaved another sigh. "We'll leave that to the bobcats." he said, stretching. He tilted his head and added, "These legs aren't as young as they used to be." in an old accent. He then laughed at his joke.

Midnight tilted his head from side to side and shrugged. "Well, the temple needs cleaning... that's not my specialty, especially when there's millions of dead moths all over the floor. Oh! I know, How about we go to sunny side hill?" he asked. I haven't been there for a while. he thought. Besides, he never really took the time to show her it's secrets.

Midnight smiled broadly and began walking in the direction of the hill.

Jasmine followed Midnight. While they walked, she hummed a song.

Midnight jumped onto a boulder and climbed up to the top. He sighed, and looked down at Jasmine. "Since we took a different route, you'll have to climb this dried waterfall." he said, sitting down. Just another hour and we'll be there. he thought, smiling.

Midnight laughed,and shook his head. Any day now. he thought impatiently. He began to pace, looking down at Jasmine, whom was still humming. Any day now.

Jasmine started to sing quietly now. "Lately I've been, I've been losing sleep...." (song continues.) She looked at Midnight and smiled. Then she looked around, still singing quietly to herself.

Midnight cocked his head. Is she gonna climb up or not? he thought. He sat down and sighed. Any day now. He thought once again. Midnight lay down, putting his head on his paws. Are you ever going to climb up the rocks?

Midnight nodded. He walked up to Jasmine, tiredly. He sighed, then smiled at her. He made a sharp turn and wagged his tail while walking through the mist. "This way!" he shouted. His voice echoed off of the walls of a small canyon. As he walked, mist swirled around him like tentacles reaching out at him. His claws clicked along the stony floor.

Jasmine followed Midnight. "That was cool. ECHO!!!!!" She said trying to make it bounce off the walls of the canyon.

Midnight smiled and made a turn into a zig-zaggy tunnel. "Over here!" he shouted. This is really fun, I love this canyon! he thought childishly. Midnight skidded to a stop, reaching the final round of the canyon.

Jasmine trotted behing Midnight and started to walk ny his isde. "This is really fun" She said happily.

Midnight smiled and said, "Yes, it is." He then ran up the steep rock wall that mist flowed down like a waterfall. He came up behind the hill he had shown Jasmine the day before her birthday. He smiled, and went back to where Jasmine was.

Midnight nodded and smiled. "It is quite beautiful." he said softly, looking around. The flowers on the hill gleamed on the sunlight, and the lucious grass waved in the wind.
