Hunting in mist

Jasmine walked towards the voice, laughing. How cute! He's acting like me! Er.... trying. "No it didn't. It sounded.... cute." She said blushing. Luckily it was so misty he couldn't see it.

Midnight smiled sheepishly. His face then became serious. "Let's go...... to that den. Then we can see each other. This mist is ridiculous... it's usually not that bad." he said. He smiled and strained his eyes to see the mound of rocks and dirt that surrounded the hole in the ground.

"Okay. I'll race ya!" Jasmine said racing towards the cave.

Midnight sprinted...um, whatever wolves did when they ran really fast.... to the den. He tumbled quite clumsily into it. He lay on his back in the small room, legs splayed on the wall. Dirt fell on his face. He grunted and spit it out of his mouth.

Jasmine looked at Midnight laughing, really hard. "OMG!!!!! THAT SO FUNNY!!!" She said in a weird accent. I could just die from laughter right now! That's on of my moves! HEEEEEY! He's stealing my moves! She thought. After she was done, she walked over to Midnight. "You okay?" She said holding back a laugh and a smile.

Midnight roughly got to his feet. He lay down in the small room. "Yes." he said. He smiled and lay his head down. "I'm OK." he muttered, assuring his neck which kind of had a cramp in it from the flip. He looked back at Jasmine. "So...we should probably stay here...at least until the mist clears." He said.

"Fine by me." Jasmine said laying her head on Midnight's back and snuggling close to him. She closed her eyes and soon drifted to sleep.

Midnight sighed and kept a wary eye on the entrance. He slowly stood up and walked out, trying hard not to wake Jazz up. He slinked off into the mist. He looked back and sighed. Midnight began sniffing. He caught a scent and followed it. He groaned a little dismayed. Mist weaved in and out of the trees. Midnight growled quietly and decided to abort mission and go back to the den. He walked in quietly and lay down.

Jasmine lay there mumbling things in her sleep. "Oou.... an't.... huv... im." She said in uncompleted phrases. She then began running, more like walking, in her sleep.

Midnight shifted, trying not to get kicked in the face....or the gut. He stifled a laugh and closed his eyes. He began to drift of into sleep. He saw a figure walking away from him. 'Hester! Where are you going!?' the younger Midnight growled. "Hester" looked back at him, glaring. 'I'm leaving!' she snarled back. Midnight flinched at the memory. 'No! Hester, where will you go? I saved you, you know that you're not the most lovable wolf.' Midnight had barked. Hester growled and lunged at him. They began fighting and Midnight snapped her neck, ending her life. He gasped and backed away.
Midnight woke with a start and panted. The fae had been a grey wolf with icy blue eyes. The younger Midnight had thought that he liked her. But she was a bad person. He had almost completely rid the memory from his mind until today. He looked at Jasmine and sighed.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" A familiar voice laughed. "Jeremy." Jasmine growled. "What do you want?" She asked crouching down defensifly. "............... You." He said smirking. "Well too bad, I killed you a long time ago. "...... So, or at least you think you did......." He said fading away. "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Jasmine screamed jumping up. She thought she saw someone standing by Midnight. It was dark so she couldnt see clearly. She lunged towards him and jumped on him screaming "NINJA!!!!!!!!!" ninja

Midnight jumped up, before being tackled by Jasmine. "Get off me child." He said. He looked around and then back at her. "What's wrong?" He asked, a little concerned. Had she seen something? He thought. He had a mini heart attack before calming down with deep silent breaths. He furrowed his brows. "Did you see someone?" he asked.

Midnight sighed and drooped his tail. "Sorry." he muttered, before stalking out of the den. What had Jasmine seen? Was it...Spirits. Or someone else. He's probably found out by now. Oh crud! He's probably found out by now!! he thought, looking around. His more logical side of his mind seemed to sigh in annoyance. Dude, you seriously need to calm down. It said. Midnight growled, a little annoyed. Shut up. he said in a sulky voice.

"WAIT!" Jasmine said running up to Midnight. "I...... sorta... think.... er...... saw someone." She said hanging her head. Stupid Jeremy. She thought unhappilly.

Midnight sighed and looked at her. "Who?" he asked. Midnight looked around, checking no one was listening. He then looked back at her with a eager face. "Who did you see?" he asked.

Jasmine bit her lip. "Isaw..... Jeremy." She said hanging her head down again.

Midnight cocked his head. "I know a Jacob, but....not a Jeremy." he said. He stopped when he saw the down face of Jasmine. "but if it makes you uncomfortable, we don't have to discuss it." He said.

Jasmine blinked away her tears. "No, it's okay." She said taking in a deep breath. "H-he, I-I-I...." Jasmine broke into tears. "I killed him!" She cried out, replying the memory.

~Flashback~

"Hey, Jeremy!" Jasmine yelled to her best friend.
"Hey, Jazz!" Jeremy said to Jasmine.
All of a sudden all the wolves in the pack ran away. An evil spirit was destroying their home!
"RUN!" Jeremy screamed to Jasmine.
They ran away, until the spirit caught Jeremy.
"HELP!" Jeremy screamed.
Jasmine turned around to fight it off but saw nothing, nothing but her best friend lying on the ground.
"Jeremy?" Jasmine asked walking up to the wolf.
All that cam from him was a laugh. An evil one.
"Jeremy?" Jasmine asked louder and more afraid.
The wolf stood up with glowing red eyes.
"JEREMY!" Jasmine screamed.
"Foolish child!" The wolf bellowed in a raspy voice.
Jasmine got up and leaped towards the wolf pinning him down.
"LET JEREMY GO!!" Jasmine screamed.
The wolf pushed her off and lunged toward her. She rolled out of the way and slashed at his neck. After she saw what she had done, she fell over crying.
~End of Flashback~

Jasmine fell over and cryed harder. She never got a chance to tell him how much she loved him (like a brother).

Midnight grew concerned. "Oh Jazz, it's OK." He said, going to comfort her. He licked the tears off her face. "I'm sure it was just a bad dream." he said, stroking her fur.

Jasmine snuggled closer to Midnight. "I hope so." She said drifting into a dreamless sleep.

Midnight smiled softly and sighed. It wasn't really safe to be out in the open. He kept an alert ear to the sounds around him, and a wary eye on his surroundings. He soon fell asleep.
'Midnight! Midnight! Wake up, you stupid.' a familiar voice echoed in his mind. He grunted, and opened his eyes. Hester was there, looking down on him. He smiled. 'Good morning sleepy head.' she said. Midnight got up and shook his fur. 'How do you know my name?' he asked. Hester smiled sheepishly. 'You were mumbling it in your sleep silly.' she said. He laughed nervously. 'Oh and thanks...." Hester said shyly. Midnight blushed, but tried to keep a straight face. 'Aum....for what?' he asked in a carefree tone. 'For saving me....thanks, I owe you.' she said.
The flash back ended as Midnight woke up from a strange chill. It was night time, and the mist had gotten oddly freezing. He stood up and stretched. Midnight nudged Jasmine. "Let's go somewhere warmer." he said, waiting for her to wake up.

Jasmine groaned annoyed and got up. She stumbled into the dirt room and fell asleep again.

Midnight followed her and lay down beside her. He fell asleep again, but this time, his dream had nothing to do with Hester.

~Next morning~

Jasmine woke up groggily. She stumbled out of the cave. She streched and yawned. "I guess I should get some breakfast." Jasmine said, now fully awake. She started to follow the scent of plump rabbits. She instantly pounced on them and carried them back to the den. "MIDNIGHT!!!! GET UP!" She yelled.
