Late for class

Bre ran through the hall as fast as she could. She slammed the classroom door open. "Bre Tanner! Your late." Mr. Whittingham snapped. "I know and I'm so sorry!" Bre apologized. The students in the class sat there frozen. "Take a seat young lady." Mr. Whittingham commanded. Bre nodded hastily and sat down at the back of the class. 

After her classes were over Bre went home to her cabin. She sighed.

The college boy wandered around the city. The town lights twinkling in the dark sky. A yawned slipped past his mouth, and tears erupted from the crinkles of his eyes. He groaned in exhaustion and rubbed his limp gray eyes. He was heading home for the day, in the outskirts of the city. The lights were dimmer here, and the starlight stronger.

Bre walked outside. She had just moved in from her mom's help. She saw a guy walking towards one of the cabins. I've got a pocket and a pocket full of- Her ringtone sang. She picked it up. Seriously? STOP CALLING ME! She thought. She rolled her eyes. "Hey what's up girl?" Makin's voice asked. "What is it!" she snapped. Boys are like sticky tape! "We-" She hung up. "Don't want to talk to you. I'm done." she muttered.

The boy glanced up to see an abnormally loud voice echo across the empty clearing. He met the situation with a raised eyebrow and paused in his gait. He recognized the newcomer, who had moved in just earlier that week. Rumors around the small cabin town whispered about her being part wolf. He sighed at the pathetic whispers going door to door. 'She might just go out to the forest a lot. So what?' He thought frowning to himself. Rumors like that had surrounded him when he first came. It was around the time he had enlisted in the tracking and study of wolf behavior. Most of it was field work, running all around the forest looking for beeping collars.
Deciding to give her a happy welcome. He walked up to her cabin with his usual bright smile. "Welcome to Sunny Acres!" He waved towards her with a laugh. "Nah, I'm kidding." He shouldered his backpack and looked at the girl resting on her porch. He bent down a little to her height and extended a hand to shake, tipping his head to the side. "Name's Akira, yours?" He was careful to avoid his last name.

She shook his hand. "Akira huh? What a wild name for a boy! Mine is Bre Tanner, but, just call me Bre." She said. She looked at the other cabins. "Sunny acres? Well, that's original." she said sighing.

He smiled back at the olive skinned girl. She still hadn't taken his hand to shake. "Um...Miss?" He said with uncertainty.
She hadn't caught his joke at all. He laughed back weakly in reply. "I-it's not really called that." He mumbled stifling his sigh.

OOC: She did shake his hand.

Bre laughed. "I know it was a joke." she said. She rolled her eyes. "I already shook your hand. And just call me Bre, miss is my mom." she said, shaking his hand once again.

OOC: Ah sorry, I didn't see that first part. Gee...

Akira nodded his head and stood up straight again, shouldering his backpack once more. "It's nice to have your acquaintance, Tanner." He said crossing his arms thoughtfully. "So what brought you to Cheyenne, Wyoming?" He said blinking curiously at the new girl.

OOC: it's fine don't worry.

Bre laughed at being called Tanner. "Yellowstone... And of course college." She said, sort of embarrased. "Yeah, nice to meet you too... Akira." she said.

OOC: Thanks...
XD, sorry for the college thing, I just picked the first one that came to mind.

The Mexican seemed to be amused by his words. 'D-Did...Did I say something weird?' He frowned, but shrugged it off with a smile. He blinked his gray eyes slowly at the femine form. She replied saying a that Yellowstone and college had peaked her interest. He hummed thoughtfully before replying again. "Hmm...Yellowstone is a couple hours from here." He crossed his arms and tipped his head slightly. "What do you plan to do out there? This season there's a lot of rain, and the main thing over there would be geysers and bison." He pursed his lips in thought. 'Does she just like being in the forest or something?' Her next reply snapped his out of his daydream. He nodded with a smile. "So which college will you be attending? I'm going to UFP, University of Phoenix." He said proudly.

Bre shrugged. "Just some college to get me away from my family." she said. She sighed, and sat down on a lounge chair. "Oh... I'm not just there for bison and geysers. There's more animals there too. I like photograghy, that's usually why I'm always in the woods." she said shrugging. She smiled, and leaned into the back of the chair.

OOC: I don't really know what colleges are in Wyoming.   

OOC: Me neither, I just made that one up. It's been in a couple of commercials I've seen. XD

Akira's eyes widened in surprise. 'Getting away from her parents? Now that's just...' He clenched his jaw, silencing his thoughts. 'I have no place to say anything...I'm practically in the same situation...' He gripped his backpack strap with clenched fist, but he continued to appear unruffled. "So what do you take photos of?" He asked with a smile.

Bre smiled, getting up from her chair. "I'll show you." She said. She stopped and looked at him. "Do you want to see?" She asked.

Akira nodded to Bre as she requested whether or not he wanted to see his photos. "Sounds good." He said smiling. She had entered her cabin, and quickly come out with a camera. 'A very nice camera that is...' However, Akira knew nothing of the arts, or cameras. Shaking off his uncertainty he glanced at the camera screen. "Of course. All that talk of taking pictures has gotten me curious." He said with another laughing smile.

Bre  smiled and nodded.  The  pictures were of flowers, sunsets, wolves hunting in snow. There were a lot of beautiful photos of wild life. Bre cocked her head and looked at him.  "Do you like them?" she asked.

OOC: Sorry for the late reply!

The word high definition felt new to Akira now. The hues were beautiful, and the shots seemed so real. He almost wanted to reach out and touch it, but kept the marvel of technology to himself. Bre asked him whether or not he liked them. Her voice seemed to press him to mention something was nice about it. Doing his best not to pull a wry smile, the boy answered. "I'm not an expert on photography, but they seem fit to be shown at a gallery."

Bre smiled. "Thanks. No one's ever said that before." she said. She took her pictures back and placed them on a table.

Akira replied laughing through his nose. He looked at Bre with glittering eyes. "No problem, but they really are awesome."

OOC: I really can't think of anything T^T

OOC: right?

Bre sighed and looked back at him. "Well... what do you do for a living?" she asked. She had realized that they had just been talking about her.

Akira's eyes widened at the personal question. His chest tightened, but he replied without missing a beat. "I work at the national park. Animal relocation and rehabilitation." He said with a more casual smile. "It's an internship, but I get some money out of it too." He mumbled scratching the back of his head in embarrassment. He didn't think it was a very flashy job.

Bre smiled nicely. "Cool. So your a tracker?" she asked. Bre thought that, that was a cool job, u-unless you got mixed up with a bear, or another dangerous animal. Other than that, Bre loved animals.
