Making a home.

Kihyah hears the response loud and clear from the other wolf and he saunters out about twenty yards from the den before raising his head and taking a strong scent of the wind so his mind could process what animals had been where and approximately how long ago. He trotted in a circle around the den as he scanned which way to head first to explore, which one drew most of his interest. He was specifically thinking about where he had found the deer it had been an obviously worn path taken by the deer every year, hmmm he thought but perhaps it would be interesting to check out taking down a bigger kill. He stops and howls back to his mate giving her instructions to go hunting without him that he was going to mark the boundaries of their land, that she should mark the trail lightly so we can re find it if we want it to be a set hunting trail. He then listens as he stands starting off heading almost due north from the back of the hill.

Kihyah returns home having clearly marked the territory, it covered a vast area including many grounds that looked significantly full of other creatures. He hadn't run into anything particular other then deer and seeing a herd of elk it was beautiful to see the landscape having found a waterfall it had just added to the perfect feeling of the place. On his way home having heard no word from his mate but with the wind having changed during the day it would've been hard to pick up much of anything on one occasion he thought he had made out her howl in the distance and even had responded back. But he hadn't caught any of what the message was intended to say, but it was a good sign that she was alright as she always was fully capable of handling herself. Upon entering a one mile radius of the den he let out a few specific calls a howl letting her know it was him approaching and a few yips to let her know he had important new he wanted to share with her when he got home.

Having been tracking the majority of the previous day Mystery had returned back home to the den later in the night, she had waited until it had gotten dark before actually hunting for she had the advantage in night and it had served her well in the past so she preferred this way. She returned dragging a doe behind her, not a very large one but not small either for it would fill the two bellys easily it was ment for. Resting the carcass on the terra close to the den she ran her nose along its spine, nares flaring as she smelled the kill but she wouldnt eat without Kih and if he was asleep she would wait till morning, it wouldnt be to long of a wait for him to wake for it would be dawn soon. Leaving her kill for a moment but keeping it in sight she finds her Kih near the cave entrance, asleep in a position thag looked like he was waiting for her. She smiled and ran her nose up his muzzle to tell him gently she was back,
moving to his side to lie and press against him to fall asleep lightly for a bit.

Kihyah wakes gently after feeling her snuggle into him, it was very late in the morning but he was happy she returned. After letting her snooze for about an hour or so he would gently rise to lick affectionately at her crown and ears. He could smell the dead doe having seen it not eaten at all he knew she'd be starving. He slowly starts to rise out of the den, stretching back on his hinds as his fores stiffened in front of him he produced a long gaping yawn before he'd stand back on all fours licking his chops a few times before giving his pelt a gentle shake to rid it of any small debris that may have gotten in it. He pads over to the kill and begins to tear into the flesh, leaving her favorite parts deserving them after such a magnificent kill. Appreciative for the full belly he'd have when he was finished, he stripped off some of the tougher meat but he didn't mind to him it was all the same liking a few tender parts such as the ribs which he was already dipping into but only took two for himself leaving the rest for her.

Mystery sighs lightly in content while she sleeps, feeling the licks of her mates tongue on her crown and auds she wakes gently to them. Listening to him with her orbs still closed she hears his stretching and yawn as she curled her tassle lightly around one of his hinds until he moved and she streched out her own fores. Still half asleep she curls up into herself to continue to listen to him silently until she heard the ripping of flesh and her orbs flutter open as her stomach growled madly to her. She quickly jumped up to her pads, trekking over to Kih and rubbing her crown up his spine when she got close enough before licking his aud and beginning to tear into the doe with him. Light murrs and growls she couldnt control escaping her through her throat.

Kihyah's vocals were soon to follow, hearing her growls his own small growls came forth and he grabs at a piece to start tearing it. He tugs hard at it for some reason not wanting to budge his frustrations apparent in the growls that became deeper and held a tension to them as he stared at the stubborn piece of meat. It finally gives and he catches himself from falling before laying down and having it out with the chuck that now was in his hands. Giving out quavering growls at it to let it know how annoying it had been but how delicious it was. Soon he grew silent however and went about his breakfast enjoying the meal as he watched the surrounding area and listened to the areas sounds enjoying the peaceful paradise while munching on his favorite meal for the day.

Mystery continues to rip away at the doe, more inhaling it kill at first as flesh ripped and bones snapped under her jaws but after a bit she slowed to enjoy it. When she felt Kih tug harshly at a peice suddenly she puts a pad on the carcass to hold it down for him as he tugged, tassle flicking lightly once he got it and lied down and she started picking at any more flesh she could get off the ribs of the doe and after a while licking them clean. Soon enough she was done though and she gave out a contebt sigh as she backed away from the kill to lie beside Kih, starting to clean at her fores and crown where she could reach and use her paw to help her as her tasske swayed happily behind her.

He finishes with the piece before returning to the doe, tearing into the haunches now as he'd eat from them stripping them of the meat til there was only small strips of flesh hanging off the bone. He pulls the lower part of the leg off at the knee before he'd prance around with his prize. Going to lay by his mate to gnaw at it and get the marrow out to enjoy together as a little treat.

Mystery smiles as she watches him get up to move back to the doe and feast on it's haunches as her tassle swayed swiftly, happy she had caught him such a meal. When he came back with his bone she laughed as he pranced back to her before murring to him as he lied down, rubbing her crown under his jawline before moving up to nibble behind his right aud lovingly while she pressed herself closer beside him. Soon her murring turned to a playful growl as she started to paw at his bone, rolling over onto her back and licking his muzzle playfully before she grabbed his bone in her maw and flipped over to jump to her pads and run off quickly toward the dens entrance. Turning to look at him and dropping her fores to stick her rump in the air in a playful bow, tassle swaying rapidly as she held his bone and waited for his reaction.

Kihyah's jaw dropped a mile, he couldn't believe what had just happened it had taken him completely by surprise. Soon shaking his head and jumping up as he realized HEY she took his bone! He raced after her full speed as she turned around to bend down into a light bow he pounced towards her with a grin wide on his face like AH HA weren't expecting that were you! When he comes down onto her giving out an oof as he starts to nip playfully at her haunches as he rotates quickly around to try to get after his bone again.

Mystery yips in surprise as Kih was suddenly in front of her and then she was on the ground with her own oof with him ontop of her and nipping at her haunches. She squirmed underneath him, flailing lightly and she growled at him lowly as she kept a tight lock on his bone and pawed at him playfully. Eventually getting out from under him she laughs and jumps to her pads again before she prances away, her tassle rubbing under his chin before she slipped into the den swiftly and teasingly with his bone still within her maw.

Kihyah had pranced into the den after her....

Kihyah woke the next morning with a wide grin on his face, it was a beautiful morning and he sauntered lightly out of the cave after rising to his feet. He took in a breath of fresh air and his tassel began to wag gently from side to side as he trotted down the muddy bank to the shore of the river where he took in a few crisp drinks of the water. It had apparently rained last night, probably would be the last rain for the summer as it was now starting to change into the dead season. Herds would be migrating soon which wasn't going to be too much of a problem, with having no pups they were free to follow the herds through out this new territory on their journey south meaning they'd have to camp out at some time later in the winter when the herds became too far from the den to trek back to every night. He had no concern about any of it, he makes his way over to the kill and has his fill before a large white poof floats by to catch his attention. It carried a seed upon it and he starts to chase it leaping into the air snapping his jaws down around it but the gust from him doing such a thing only would rocket it upwards out of his mouth.

Mystery wakes soon after Kih had sauntered out of the den, stretching out her fores and hinds as she rose to her pads to bound over to the caves entrance. Her tassle swaying happily she laughs as she watches Kih try and catch a little white poof and she rolls her orbs lightly. Suddenly in front of him she has the little white piece of fluff between her front enamels with a warm smile upon her maw, having snuck up to him and gently grabbed what he had been chasing. Still holding it she touched her nose to his before setting the fluff on his snout with a gentle smile. "I love you Kih."

He smiles wide his tail picked up it's pace from side to side as he moved straight into her neck letting the white fluff go on its way to nuzzle into her neck a murr rising quickly to his throat as he closed his silver orbs. " I love you too baby." he says right before he begins to lick at the fur upon her neck grooming it affectionately for a few moments before he'd nuzzle right back into her neck murring loudly in his chest as he began to push lightly into her giving out a few playful yips and whines. He drops suddenly from her neck as his fores had slide out from under him banner now flying high as he looked up at her giving out a couple of playful barks at her.

Mystery smiled and licked Kih's auds when he nuzzled into her neck, murring lovingly back to him before he pushed against her and let out playful yips and whines. She nibbled then at his aud, her murring turning to a low playful growl as her tassle whipped the air lightly. When he slid down into a play bow she her growling got louder and she pounced on him. Taking one of his auds in her enamels and shaking her crown lightly, holding his apex down with a pad on his muzzle.

Kihyah kicked at her with his front and back legs to rid himself of her gnawing upon his ear, if this didn't stop her he would then proceed to tell her off in a series of playful growls and nips to her fores and shoulder. " That's my ear you know." clearly portrayed in these actions his tassel now thumping hard against the earth. He licks a few times at the places he nipped at giving out a soft whine.

"Mhm.. It is your ear." Mystery mumbles, still chewing lightly on his aud as she moved slightly on her pads to avoid his kicking as she continued to growl at him lowly. After a while she lets go of his aud and nips at his nose playfully while pawing at him happily, bounding back whenever he tryed to nip her to just bound back forward to nip him again. Her tassle swaying swiftly as she played with him.

Kihyah got back up onto all four pads and shook himself off, when she bounces back in he touches his nose to hers. " Tag you're it." he says before swiftly nipping at her nose to cause her to bounce backwards before he'd bound off jumping over her giving out a chuckle as he took off light on his paws as he followed the river down it's windy bends. Coming across a fox he quickly hurdles it giving out an apology as he continued his race forward.

After chasing him and playing a swift game of tag in the water with him it had soon become dark and she paded over to him, licking up his muzzle gently and murring to him before they would both trek back to the den for the night. Rubbing her crown under his jaw line affectionatly and curling her tassle lightly around his as they walked but all to soon they were back to the den and she slipped in it's entrace fluidly before lieing down on the cave floor and waiting for Kih to wrap himself around her like he always did. Once he was curled warmly around her she buried her crown in his pelt and sighed contently, sleep slowly pulling her under as she cuddled with him.
