| Subject: An old story from years ago... July 30th 2012, 11:03 pm | |
| Hey everyone, this is Kirozanagi. I recently found a chapter of an old story I was working on a few year back. It seemed decent so I grabbed it and it's in the second spoiler below. Honestly though, I've been wondering whether I should continue it or not. So if any one would read it and tell me what you think, that'd be great! Click below to reveal The Setting- Spoiler:
The story is set about 2000 years in the future. The earth's apocalypse has come and gone, and the ragged shambles of a planet remain. As for the structure itself, there is a massive split down the center of the planet, and a few areas where the ground remains intact enough to pass over to the other side of the once blue planet. The temperatures have been dragged to extremes, and in most places it's either extremely hot, or extremely cold. There are now three moons, (one made of molten rock, one made of ice, and the one we all know and love today) and the wealthier humans no longer live on earth, or as it's called now, Living Hell- or Gaia. The humans that left earth fled to the closest inhabitable planet (mars, or earth 2) and the lower class scum still inhabits destroyed remains of cities and struggle for survival. Amongst the chaos a group of scientists, driven mad by the lack of laws and regulations, decided to perform genetic tests and experiments on humans and animals that they managed to capture. After the first apocalypse that killed of about 50% of human and animals on the surface of the earth with a large meteor knocking enough dust in the air to block out sunlight for three years, humans began to get desperate. trying to pray to their make believe gods and finally going as low as to try and bribe Satan himself. After a cult of a 999 humans sacrificed themselves to the demon lord, he used their blood to open a gate way to hell, releasing a great demons into this realm. That was the second Apocalypse: the plague of demons. The mad scientist from before now set to trapping demons as well, taking bits of their DNA and crossing it with animal and human. A few of their creatures escaped, for instance two 'dragons' that seemed to embody fire and ice themselves, and were soon called the seasonal dragons, as when one of them seemed more dominant the seasons changed accordingly. With their escaped creatures running rampant, a third and final travesty hit the planet. The sun itself had a small abnormality, which triggered a large explosion, that destroyed the planet mercury and split earth. After this the climates became somewhat of a balance, and ares of plant life between the Burning and freezing climates formed. At this point, the scientists had managed to survive and kept up their antics, not learning from their mistakes before. Now the're called the white ones (due to their white lab coats) or the creators. Another species of cross-breed genetically altered demonesque creatures. They were called I.N.U.s (Incontrollable Neurotoxin Units). Most of them carried heavy amounts of Neurotoxins where a single scratch or bite from one could send a full grown elephant insane, or even kill. These I.N.U. were dispised by humans and hunted down by the small groups. Now the I.N.U. have sanctuary behind a natural rock formation and a chain of three mountains that is commonly referred to as the Inu Territory. I.N.U. come in various shapes and sizes, there's a breed of them for almost every species of animal though most of them carry strong wolf genes. Every I.N.U. has a weak humaesque form that carries some human features, such as the general body shape, and bone structure, along with the ability to shift into a true form. This true form is unique to their individual, and is influenced by their animalistic and demonic roots. The humaesque form carries traits from the True From, such as tails, animalistic appendages and animal like ears. [x]- an image of InuFang's humanesque form

Chapter One: The Beginning of the Beginning.
InuFang-
Death. If you had a choice to die, what would you chose? Eternal Life or an Early Death? Pain. Would you take the path of never-ending anguish, or a dismal deadness to the world having no feeling at all? Fear. Without fear there is no such thing as hope. I could see the flames all around me, licking up all the air and cracking the stone with their immense heat. I could see the ripples of oxygen-less air as it raised to the dark heavens above... if such a thing existed... The sweltering heat evaporated even the tiniest molecules of water from the air. Yet in spite of it all, I felt nothing. Nothing but the cold chill of recognition of what I had done. A silent shiver made its way down my spine. It was all my Fault. We were all dead and it was all my fault. The air became so thin any human would have collapsed. Well, that's if the heat didn't fry him first. But, then again I wasn't human. I was a monster, a demon. An "I.N.U.". My claws began to tighten around the opaque milky-white shards in my hand and a single salty tear dripped off off of my chin. I'd doomed us all... The edges of the shards began cutting into the leathery padding of my paw-like hands. A drop of crimson blood dripped from my claws and splattered into a pool of tears and flames. --------I remember how all this started... during a simpler time and place... --------------As if it were only yesterday... --------------In reality, It started --------fourteen years ago, Today on the day of my birth. Sitting below the protective arms of an enormous deciduous tree that hadn't yet given it's leaves up to the unforgiving winter chill, was a snowy white figure covered in strange pitch black marks. The creature had pale golden hair that almost represented moonlight. Upon closer investigation, one could see that her eyes were a bright gold with silver rings around her corneas. She shifted her weight and curled her massive long tail around her legs and leaned against the tree's trunk. her eyes half open, she looked skyward and began humming a solace for her lost one. gently swaying, her long ears faced outwards at prime angles for surveying her surroundings. her humming soon turned to singing and her words in demon tongue soon filled the air with a eerie yet comforting sound that even the earth itself seemed to take in. the mountains around this valleys seemed to hold the tree and her like cradling arms and the purplish blue sky showed the faint glow of the setting second sun. She stroked an extended stomach as she watched the two seasonal dragons finished their brawl and the frost-fall dragon land its decisive blow as snow and ice soon began to coat the land. the Sunbeam dragon then retreated to its nest to heal until its next duel for control. The blue sun seemed to shine brighter and the air began to chill form the frozen sun's glow as the red, flaming sun dulled a bit and began to "hibernate". a leaf cracked behind the girl and she casually swung her muzzle to the side and looked over her shoulder. her large clawed hand took a hold on the bark of the tree as she shifted to the side to let the other sit. "oh, hello Elder Kainith. I had expected you to appear before me sometime soon." Her bright optics looked over at the decrepit figure sitting down next to her. "Luneria, you should take more care to stay where it swarm and safe. Just sitting exposed out her under the Sacred tree is dangerous, especially at this time of year." Kainith used a claw on his hand to brush the long fur from his eyes. his irises were a deep purple and had flecks of a bright cerulean throughout. he had a long greying pelt and seemed at times to be nothing more than a mass of fur. around his upper body he had a black robe wound about him that fell of length to the ground. his back had long ago given up its natural straightness and now was curved into a slight hunch. Even though his body seemed aged beyond measure his eyes seemed to carry a mystic power behind them and a shine of spirit always flickered in them. He raised a hand to the sky and pointed at a constellation in the sky with one long sharpened claw where a humans pointer finger would be. "Excluth the Wise, many fail to remember where he lies after learning of Grimsies the Strong in their history lessons. However, even in the tales of times before mine, Excluth's wisdom allowed him to defeat many a foe with out excess of injury or unnecessary death. If you look at Grimsies' tales of old, then you would see far more bloodshed and even his early death. Remember that even the mightiest brute strength cannot defeat a well thought out plan." Kainith traced the outline of a constellation of stars in the shape of the wise scholar he'd been speaking of. "Yes, yes, I know. you've preached these words to me countless times. I realize the importance of knowledge and a well-made plan." Luneria closed her eyes in a smile as she tilted her head to the side. Then shifting into a crouching position her fur extended out to a more protective length, her large clawed hands seemed to mend into paws and her very bone structure realigned into a basic canine skeleton. Her face elongated into a muzzle and her tresses of blonde hair became more like a mane. she lifted her body onto her feet and padded a couple feet before collapsing onto her side. A moan of pain escaped her maw. "Grawwww.... uhweh..." Her features became pale and she fell into the black void of unconsciousness. Soon after Luneria's eyes snapped open to see the black void of night above her littered with glittery stars. The moon seemed almost larger than before and the planets were visible among the stars with their different colors. one red, two orange, three yellow, one blue, and one green. She imagined what color this planet looked like from so far away. blue? no, it had been too long since this was the "blue planet" maybe black like ash and death, or brown like sickness and dirt. perhaps grey like stillness and frozen places. It had been ages since humans inhabited this place and called it "Earth". That time was just before the second sun had appeared, before the planet had split in two and uncontrollable Ice and Fire rained down on the few inhabitants that still remained here.
