Weaknesses and Thoughts

Irina kept laughing at this remark. "Hyena." She said, just barely. Snowstar sort of laughed at his words too.

liam rolled his eyes. "i'm going to look for a good place to sleep." he said grumpily.

"that rabbit must have been eating some funny mushrooms or something. she was acting kinda weird." liam comented to snowstar as they looked around for a place to sleep. he would prefer a den under some large tree roots or at least some place they could sleep safely.

"Ya, ya don't say." Snowstar replied. She spotted a cave with tree roots covering the top. "That's odd." She muttered.
"Hey Liam, What about that?" she asked gesturing to the tree covered cave.

liam walked over to the cave to examined it. "nice." he said. he was kind of impressed she had seen it. the cave blended so well with its souroundings that it was almost unnoticeable. "its hidden, its big enough, you found the perfect den. i can get some dry moss to put on the ground to make it more warm to." he said enthusiastically.

Snowstar was impressed.  "Ok, I'll help, oh, and thanks." she said lightly. Snowstar sat down and waited for him.

liam wagged his tail and walked to a nearby tree surounded by moss. he started gathering the driest moss to put on the floor of their new-found den. he used his claws to dig the moss out in big chunks to make it easier to carry, then picking up a larg mass in his mouth, he went to spread it on the cave floor.

Snowstar did the same as Liam. She then saw some bird feathers scattered across the ground. She smiled sadly and picked them up. She then lay them on top of the moss. "This is a very cool cave." she said, walking into a passage, her voice echoing. She gasped "Liam, look!" She shouted. There were hundreds of bats hanging on a huge ceiling.

Liam looked up at the celling. " what do you think? chase them out, leave them be, or eat them?" he said looking at snowstar.

"Leave them be. And eat them every now and then." she said smiling. Snowstar walked back to the main entrance. Irina was there. "Wow, nice cave." she said admiringly.

"snowstar found it" liam told her. "and it looks like we got a store of food in there to if we need it" he said wagging his tail.

Irina wagged her tail. "Ya know what Liam, you ain't so bad your self." she said. She lay down on the moss. "Good work snowstar." She said respectivly. "Where is Cole?" Snowstar asked. Irina's head perked up. "Oh, moon heads back at the pool." She said. Snowstar laughed.

liam rolled his eyes. "he's a strange one all right. well if he decides to stop staring at the pool and join us he can follow our scent over here." he said, carrying the last batch of moss to the cave and finished covering the floor. satisfied that the den was suitable, he lay down and rested his head on his paws. he wagged his tail a bit. Irina had given him a complement. she may warm up to him yet.

Snowstar had fallen asleep. Irina was looking around. This cave just goes on and on. She thought. It was an actual cave. There were were stalacites and stalegmites. She was amazed of this. The cave began to narrow into a hallway, suddenly dipping down steeply. She heard the rush of a water fall. Must come from the lagoon. She thought. Irina looked down from the hallway. Underneath it were huge formation, bats were fluttering around. A light came from the distance. Must be a sink hole. Bats swarmed out of the hole. Irina smiled. The cave was a beautiful structure. Good job Snowstar.

liam rolled over on his side and quickly fell asleep.

Irina lay down in her little hallway and fell asleep.

Liam woke up at the crack of dawn before the others and went to hunt up some rabbits or a deer if he got lucky. he was a morning kinda guy and loved to be awake and outside to see the sunrise. he took a minute to appreciate the fiery colors then began his hunt. he managed to scrounge up a few rabbits, and on the way back even saw signs of the passage of a few deer. ~I'll hunt them down later.~ he thought to himself as he brought the rabbits back to the cave. ~i hope they don't wake up before i get back.~ he thought. he wanted to surprise them with breakfast as soon as they got up. he ran back to the den as fast as he could.

Snowstar was outside watching the sunrise. I wonder where Liam is. She thought. She sighed as the colors started to fade, and went back inside. "Irina?" She called. Snowstar became confused. Where is everyone?


Irina was still sound asleep in the hall. She rolled over, and slipped. She woke with a fright. "AHH!" she howled as she tumbled down the escarpment. She skidded to a stop. Bats looked at her, and seemingly groaned. Irina got up and shook her head to clear it. She looked around. How am I to get back up? She thought. "Snowstar!?! LIAM!!" she yelled.

Liam was just getting back to the cave when he heard Irina yell for him and snowstar. he dropped the rabbits by the entrance and rushed to the hallway. looking down he saw Irina stuck at the bottom of the sunken area under the hallway. "are you OK? what happened?" Liam called down to her.

Snowstar bounded after him. "Irina! What happened?" She asked. "Don't come down, you'll probably get stuck down here too." She said as Snowstar was about to come to her. Snowstar stopped. "How will you get out?" Snowstar asked. Irina thought. She tried climbing up the slippery surface, but slid back down. She jumped, but then slipped. She landed on all fours before falling to her belly. She groaned. She got back up. She looked about. Maybe I shouldn't have slept here. She thought.

liam thought for a minute. "what if i got a long tree branch? or pushed a hollow log over? you could dig your claws into it and climb back up." he suggested.

Irina thought for a moment. Snowstar glared at her. If you pass by this one, you're not getting up. She thought. Irina walked up to the slope, looking for some other way to get up. Seeing nothing else, she sighed. "Whatever, just get me out. I'm trusting you on this." she said. She pouted sort of, having to trust him wasn't really in her to do list.

liam wagged his tail. " i'm going to find a sturdy log" he said. turning he walked to the entrance, but stopped seeing the rabbits he had caught. he grabbed one and brought it back to the hallway and dropped it over the edge near irina. "here i caught some rabbits and this on is for you. there is one for you to snowstar, at the entrance to the cave." he turned and ran out of the cave to look for a log.

Irina growled, irritated. She shook her head and ate the rabbit. Snowstar stayed at the slope with Irina. She lay down and hoped Liam would be successful at finding something.
