| Arvalia;
The light chestnut female trekked along the gentle slops of the beach, a breeze blowing her fur back. She lifted her muzzle to the sky, feeling free, as though she could drift off into the unknown and be carried by the wind. Her paws fell deep into the grainy sand, pebbles clinging to her pads. Her tail whipped to her side, sand cascading back down and pooling beneath her paws. Her audits flickered and she paused, looking around, listening. The waves crashed as crystal blue water lapped at the shores. Her tongue swiped along her muzzle. Fish. The thought made drool form at the corners of her snout. She never had caught one, but the thought of food just seemed lovely right now. Hunger bit at her stomach like frostbite. Sharp and quick. Painful. She trotted up to the water, the waves drifting over her paws. She lifted one up, her tongue lolling at the end of her mouth. The water was cool; refreshing. It made her feel alive- it awakened her senses. She padded up to her shoulder in the cold water, shivering lightly. She waited patiently, making sure her shadow didn't cast over the water and scare the fish. Waves poured over her, and she clung strongly in her place. She almost tumbled over, but stopped herself by digging her claws into the sand. It didn't do much, but it made her feel a bit better. Salt washed into her muzzle, and she spat, trying to get the horrid taste out, and determinedly continued fishing, unaware of who- or what- was around her.

He lay on the beach. Watching curiously as a chestnut colored fae waded deeply into the water, searching for flashes of prey in the white foamed waves. He laid his head on his fore-paws and ran his tongue over his muzzle, feeling sand stuck to his whiskers, which he quickly spat out in disgust. He blinked slowly, his mismatched eyes glinting gleefully. He flicked his tail, flinging up a small cloud of snow. "How you caught anything yet, Miss?" Blade called out almost playfully. His tail wagged, and his eyes were closed, crinkled up in a wide smile that spread ear to ear. He watched as she turned around and being splashed by a wave, trying her best to get the salty taste out of her mouth. He stared and got up to padded over to the moist sand, but away from the water. "Are you alright, miss?" He called out again, his lowered head tipping to the side in a question. He giggled to himself. "Wolves' weren't made for the water. Especially not salt water." He said with a laughing snort. He flicked his pierced ear and shoved his jet black nose forward in greeting. "Nice to meet you, miss. My name's Blade!" He yipped delightfully

| [ Of course. ]
The female turned as a wolf's voice rang out. Her ears flickered as she saw a male wolf grinning over at her. Trudging through the icy water, she made her way to the shore, shaking her pelt. Droplets of water sprinkled into the warm sand. She shivered slightly from the cool water, sinking her paws deep into the light-colored sand. Grains of the warm substance lined up in between her paws, making it rather uncomfortable. She flinched in embarrassment. "Err...." She nervously laughed. "Not exactly. And, I'm fine, thanks." She tilted her head to the side at the wolf curiously. He was friendly, which was a surprise. Usually wolves were never kind to her. Especially the males. They could be the worst. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Blade. I'm Arvalia," she replied courteously, dipping her muzzle to the ground as she introduced herself.

| OOC: Thanks!
The female seemed embarrassed as she trod onto the warm sand. She replied nervously, but was friendly. Blade smirked as she tried to gather herself in her introduction. He chuckled under his breath and stared at her with twinkling eyes. "It's nice to meet you as well, Arvalia." He replied, dipping his head in return to the fae. Then he grinned with a somewhat exasperated look in his eyes. "What exactly were you thinking?" He said, his voice husky with hidden laughter. "I'm sure there are plenty of other food sources. I've seen a lot of birds around here, Lia." Blade paused and his eyes widened in surprise. "Ah! Can I call you that, Lia?" He said with in a slightly flustered fashion. He dipped his head apologetically. "S-Sorry, force of habit." He mumbled embarrassingly.

| The sun cast over her eyes, making them shine brightly with enthusiasm. She was glad she had at least made a friend. For once she didn't have to worry about fighting. Her ears prickled. "Well... From what I've heard from other wolves' gossip, the water here isn't drinkable and the only other prey are fish and crabs. Crabs, of course, aren't exactly the easiest animal to catch, so I figured I would go fishing." She chuckled lightly, trying to hide her embarrassment about it. You're so dumb, Arvalia. Wolves aren't built to fish. You're supposed to use your speed to catch actual land animals. She let out a puff of exasperation at her stupidity. "I didn't know there were birds." The area beside her muzzle turned into a bouquet of red. Maybe he wouldn't notice and laugh about it. "And... yeah, sure. Call me whatever you'd like." She dipped her head, letting him know he was forgiven. In fact, there wasn't anything to be sorry about. She was the one making an utter fool of herself. You've already messed up far too many times. Don't let this be another. She thought of this rather bitterly. The look she portrayed was hopefully unreadable as of this moment. She felt embarrassed and socially awkward. "I'm sorry if I may seem uncomfortable. It isn't you- obviously. I've just really never met another friendly wolf before." Her ears flattened back as she spoke shyly. | |

| The black wolf exhaled in relief as she accepted his apology for the slip of his tongue. He blinked with wide eyes as the female explained that she had heard the only prey around the shores were fish and crabs. He grunted in surprise. 'Now that she mentions it...There aren't actually enough birds to live off of...' He felt exasperated at himself and grimaced. "I suppose you're right...Lia." He smiled self-decrepitatingly. Then she began to explain that she wasn't being cold, just surprised at how friendly he was being. He flicked his ears back, turning to the side to hide the slight blush rising on his skin. "D-Don't worry about it. I'm glad for the complement." She had a slight shade of crimson spread across her cheeks too. With his eyes still perpendicular to the shore, he checked the sky. The sun was nowhere near the horizon. He frowned and shoved his jet black nose forward to stare intently at her face. He was worried, Lia might have gotten too cold in the water. He tipped his head to the side slightly. "Are you alright, Arvalia?" He narrowed his mismatched eyes and stared at her blue eyes carefully. A sweet scent surrounded her, which was slightly dampened by the musky smell of salt water. His nostrils flared as he inhaled her scent. 'She...smells..nice...' He thought staring deeply into her eyes. Then he withdrew with a concerned frown plastered onto his muzzle. "Are you sick?" He asked, his eyes clouded with worry. | |

| Arvalia's ears flickered at his concern. Tilting her head and locking his eyes with his, she nodded slowly. "Uh... yeah. I think so, at least. Why? Do I smell odd?" She asked, pushing her muzzle into her fur to see if there was an odd or salty scent. She looked back up at him. "Well, the water was a bit cold, so I might get chills. I guess I should find something to warm me up a bit." As she turned to leave, she looked back at him, her light-rimmed ears flickering as her icy blue eyes set on him. "Oh, and you're welcome to come along if you want." She put on a kind smile and waited for a response. Hopefully he would join in. He was kind to her, and it felt nice to have company. | |

| Arvalia didn't seem as concerned, she seemed more confused than worried. Blade tilted his head slightly and lowered one ear as she sniffed at her pelt. He blinked slowly as she mumbled that the water was quite cold. He nodded briskly, but she began to pad away. He furrowed his brow. 'You mean that's it..?' He was surprised by how quickly she wanted to leave, but she suddenly turned around and asked if he wanted to join her. "Ah, um...S-Sure." He stuttered out in surprise. He padded up beside her and smiled slightly. "Why, I couldn't let a female go about her business on her own, could I?" He let out a short chortling laugh, and swept his tail across the ground. | |

| "I could care for myself, but I don't mind the company," she replied with a friendly smile. She began padding along the dunes, sand sinking over and between her paws. Her ears flickered as she heard a seagull let out a sharp cry, its wings extended outwards as it soared across the sky, flapping its wings every few seconds. Her tongue lolled out the end of her mouth as she began to pant with the heat of the sun directly over her short pelt. She turned back to look at him. Maybe a conversation would be pleasant. After all, she was traveling with him. Might as well get to know him, right? Please don't say anything stupid, Arvalia. "So, what brings you to the beach anyways? Normally wolves aren't common around these parts..." Her voice trailed off awkwardly as she continued her way, sniffing every so often to make sure she didn't miss any caves. Glancing back at him, her gaze was soft and bright with interest. | |

| The black wolf cocked his head. His eyes narrowed in what seemed like a smile. 'She sounds passive aggressive without meaning to.' He followed behind her, his silver paws sinking into the ground. The warm sand moving in between his toes. His eyes darted to her gray rimmed maw. Her pink tongue darted out and he lifted one of his ears as she attempted to create conversation. His eyes widened slightly. "Normally." He said with a smile. "I would ask you the same question," he paused then replied truthfully after weighing between the two options. "I came here purely for vanity." He sighed with a nervous laugh. "Not that great of answer if I say so myself." He narrowed his mismatched eyes against the sun. "What's your reason?" | |

| OOC: may I join, it seems interesting.
Blake and his step brother padded along the shores. Goldflame and him were leaving the beaches and he was leading the pup to his old homeland. Blake ran into the water and dived down below. He came back up with a fish in his mouth. He came back, proudly with his prize. Goldflame rolled his eyes. Blake had lived by the sea and grew accostomed to fishing and stuff. Goldflamed noticed the other wolves and stopped moving. "Blake!" he whispered harshly. The teen pup froze and the "brothers" crouched down behind a rock

| OOC: Sure!
His tail swished among the grains of sand as the sun grew hotter and the day got older. The fae seemed to paused to think of a response, but a hushed hiss pricked his ears. His eyes took a slightly sharper appearance. He glanced behind him, an eyebrow raised in suspicious curiosity.
But, nothing spanned the sandy shore but rocks and rotting seaweed. He was at a disadvantage being upwind, and the stench of the plant matter did him little good. He turned back to the female and brushed it off, saying he heard some distance bird calls. He tittered, assuring her that there was nothing.
