Land of Mists

Fang stalked back into the woods he called his own. After his time at that accursed lake he was glad to be back in his home. He breathed in the heavy mist, knowing that somewhere in these woods a challenger lurked.

Fang crept threw the woods, slipping between trees as he patrolled his home. He moves quickly and carefully, wary of ambush or attack.

Kupa slunk threw the trees keeping his ears erect in sign of danger, he continued quickly, intent on getting out of the territory as fast as possible.

Fang caught the sent on an intruder. He let loose a challenging howl as he took off at a run, following the sent trail.

Kupa sighed and howled back a warning, he was not sure if who this wolf was or how big or strong he was but Kupa had decided he was tired of big mean wolves. He put on a burst of speed and headed straight for the edge if the territory.

Fang put on a burst of speed and quickly caught up with Kupa. "Stand and fight trespasser.

Kupa stood his ground and looked at the big brute "i only wish to pass threw i don't want a fight" he slowly crept around fang then bolted forward and out of the territory.

Fang watched him go. "Coward!" He cried after him. Fang turned and sauntered back into the woods.

Fang stalked through the woods. Searching for prey.

Fang stalked along the path. Growling to warn anything that might try to cross him.

Fang patrolled the land he called his, wary for any trespassers.

Fang stepped onto the hidden path, he had been away a long time and it was time to see what may have changed in his home. He strode with confidence along one of his many routes through the mists, he was after all king here, and who or what would dare to challenge him?

Soryu stared with his black tail curled around his paws. The male had been studying the white scarred brute for a while. He seemed to carry too much pride in himself. His azure eyes narrowed as the male neared himself. He continued to contemplate his thoughts in silence, but he was completely aware of the wolf in front of him. Even tensed up for a small skirmish.

Fang felt the presence of another, another wolf in his territory? he would need to make an example of him, to warn others who may be in the area. He howled his challenge, "This is my land!" He howled, "Face me or flee!"

Soryu's eyes narrowed to small icy blue slits. His black tail waved the mist around him. He stood up and cleared his throat loudly. "What would I do if I face you then?" The shrewd black male already knew he would try to attempt to fight. He wanted to make an example of his claws for others who may invade his territory. It was a habitual instinct, but used too much can make you predictable. And being predictable was dangerous.

Fang heard the reply and began to follow the echo that was always present in this wasteland, he howled his response as he stepped boldly in a small clearing, "You would die!"

Soryu's face remained neutral. He flicked his ears in the mist that swirled around a black pelt, covering it in dew and water. "Death is it...?" He muttered loud enough for the black brute to hear. His azure eyes seemed frigid and cold, and the atmosphere around him seemed too empty and was always quiet. That's how Soryu was. Quiet and cold, just like the forest of mist. He found it as a place where he would belong, but now this bucket head of a wolf was stampeding around like an elephant disturbing his silence and peace.
"So you prefer to be haunted by the phantoms of your murders and sins, instead of an actual living thing?" Soryu grunted as he hit the ground from the tree he was standing in. Now the white wolf could see him clearly, he was pracically fox lengths from him. His azure eyes narrowed as his tail twitched in anticipation, but he kept his cool and help himself together in front of the scarred wolf.

Fang glared down at the smaller wolf, "No phantoms haunt me!" He roared, "Sins? What sins? There is no right or wrong! There is only live or die! Murders? If a creature is too weak to survive the challenge of life then they must die! Just as you will fall before me!" He howled a battle cry and tensed for a charge.

Soryu watched as the wolf continued to scoff. He had no replies for his comprehension. It would be pointless to try and argue to fix his point. He was just too stubborn to even try to understand. His thoughts were fixed in and framed in steel. It wasn't going to break down any time soon, but he said one thing that may have quaked him. Soryu was unsure what his response would be, but it would be fun to experiment. "Then what about when you were a pup? Then you were too weak to protect yourself. Others may have had to protect you instead. Then you would have to have died then because you couldn't protect yourself." He sighed as if it was obvious but did not show aggression. He blinked up at the white wolf, not moved by his threat. "I am a lot stronger than I look." The black brute was of large size but not as big as the white one, and Soryu didn't like to be underestimated either. Although, to keep others guessing is what kept most wolves alive.

Fang paused for a moment, remembering. He had wandered these woods for many years but he still remembered the day his pack turned on each other, the days afterwords when he struggled to find food and shelter. The fierce look returned as he barked out his response, "I don't care how strong you are, I don't care what you think of when i was a pup. I had to run for my life from wolves who had hunted to bring me food, who had bled to protect me, but i survived. I was strong enough to escape them in these woods, i was strong enough to learn to survive on my own. Others were not strong enough, and they died the deaths they deserved."

Soryu was starting to get irritated by this, but kept his head. "How patronizing. A sad story to top it all off." He said in a deep rumbling voice this time. He too had somewhat of a history, but he wasn't one to just give up his vulnerable weaknesses. "But what if you ended up like one of them?" His azure eyes narrowed into a glare. "You would have been dead and we wouldn't have had this confrontation." His black tail waved as he sneered back at the wolf.
"Don't ask for pity from wolves you threatened to kill." He growled. The anger inside started to bubble.

Fang lowered his head drawing his lips back, "When i die it will be an honorable death, brought upon me by an opponent far more worthy that you." He hissed between clenched teeth. "I don't make threats, i make promises, and I promise you this, you will die here and now." Fang howled a final battle cry before leaping forwards at Soryu.

Ross crawled through the prickly bushes, sensing that this part of the forest might be dangerous. Her yellow pelt didn't help her stealth, and if the danger she thought was here found her, she couldn't blame the black plants or the thin white mist that tumbled through the forest. It was just her luck that the mist would be so thin while she was crossing this part of the forest. It was thicker in the sort of safer parts, though there was no such thing as 'safe' in the forest.
