Jay had been working away the decaying wood of the barn he occupied now, his chains have fixtures upon the old wood all he had to do was run to the end of the chain to pull it just a little from the wall...this process took him weeks to even think up and even longer for him to muster up enough courage to try it from fear of the humans. Of course then when he had finally set about doing it months had passed where most wolves would have given up hope he saw that even though it was little to no progress it was better then living out the rest of his days here. With the humans having taken up hitting him for sport while they were drunk it was no longer an option to stay, his right fore was permanently crippled due to one mans boisterous drunken night when he decided Jay was an appropriate target to try shooting drunk...the result was a bullet lodged in the wolfs fore so that it had become infected...after that because the humans couldn't be caught having him they then attempted a botched surgery to remove the leg...now it just stayed close to his chest and he had no use of it. Finally he ran the length of the chain and he felt the fixtures pull free of the wall and tears started to stream down his face...freedom...he was finally free, he slipped out of most of the chains and shackles except the one around his neck. He left it and walked right past the dogs who lay upon the wooden patio, their eyes watched as he limped his way off the property. One of the females raised her head and nodded to him almost as if to say good luck, she was one of many he had been forced to breed with and all the dogs there were his friends now so they didn't mind seeing him go. As he limped off into the night he finally reached the edge of the forest, he took one look back at the place that had been his prison for so long before he disappeared into the misty night.
