A Journey Home

Kihyah woke up hours later, his eyelids blinking heavily open to part and let the fading sunlight in. Realizing how late it was he gets to his feet quickly doing a gentle dance on his pads as he tries to determine whether he should wake her or not he whines softly to wake her. He didn't want to leave and have her worry about him, but the scent line needed to be finished and he was STARVING and his stomach let the whole forest know it seemed as he squirmed a bit impatient for his mate to open her sleepy eyes and get going with him. He hated that it had to be ruined like this, wanting to spend all the time in the world with her there but knowing that was never a possibility at least it was a spot for them to retreat away from the rest of the wolves so they could have some simple alone time with one another. Kihyah then proceeds to lick her muzzle affectionately to wake her more then she possibly already was from his whining and prancing about which was more like romping with his large brute size.

Having fallen asleep beside her mate Mystery squimed in her sleep now as she felt her Kih move away from her and she squeezed her orbs closed more as she started to wake. She could faintly hear her mates whines and slowly her orbs fluttered open and she lifted her crown slightly before feeling his impatient licks. After a minute or two she rose clumsily to her pads, shaking out her derma to try and rid herself of the sleepy feeling that was slowly disappearing as her maw spread and she gave out a whiny yawn.

Kihyah dances around happy she was awake, his tail wagging behind him to indicate that was now his happy dance. His yips and barks playfully at her before skipping off to the hole in the bramble patch before sinking down onto his underbelly so that he could squirm through. " Think like a snake...BE the snake." he says intent on not getting hooked by too many thorns on his way out as every time he'd move wrong would mean a sharp point on the end of that bad judgment. He finally makes it out after starting to feel a little bit claustrophobic and he sits right down next to it to guard her exit from the brambles, plus he wanted to give her a few more kisses to her crown and audits before they went any further.

Mystery laughed softly as she watched her mate dance happily around her and the mistress yipped playfully back at him as her tassle began to whip the air, bounding after him once he had skipped off and she tried to catch his banner in her maw as she chased after him. Watching as he slithered into the opening of the brambles she lowered her crown and yipped into the hole as she lowered her belly onto the terra. It was a bit easier for her to slink through the brambles with her smaller size, she had a little more room to squirm unlike her Kih. She popped her crown out into the light then, looking up to she Kih there and she smiled warmly as the rest of her frame slid easily from the brambles. She wouldnt be able to move as easily as time went on and her stomach continued to swell with their growing pups inside of her, she didnt mind though. It was all worth it.

Kihyah smiles seeing her exit the brambles, his tassel waving boldly behind him as he dipped down his neck just slightly to kiss her face. He rises off his hinds and trots a little ways from her before circling the spot so she could catch up before heading down the scent line again, they still had quite a few miles to cover but they could do it before night fall as long as they kept moving now and didn't stop for anything. He had no intentions of stopping other then the occasional lift his leg behind Mystery's scent and mark close or over top of hers at times, either way it let them know that a healthy wolf pack lived in the territory.

Faye~
I sighed and looked around.My stomach rumbled.Why were Kihyah and Mystery taking soo long?I felt like disobeying and eating but I held myself back.I walked a few feet away from the deer because it`s lovely smell would drive me to do some things I would regret.I felt lonely,since everybody was gone.The brute went after the pup and the Alpha and Alphess were probably off fooling around.So that left me.Still a loner in my own pack.When would things ever change?

Kihyah pads into the clearing where the den was, it was late when they rolled in. The moon was up and the stars were shining brightly above them in a canopy of lights. He barks to let everyone know they had returned from marking the scent line and eagerly he makes his way to the deer, his prance one of pride and joy from his days work plus from not having to catch dinner tonight. He locks down at the ribs of the deer, using his incisors and fangs to rip portions of the flesh off of the carcess as and chews as though he had a large strip of jerky in his maw. His tassel wags behind him but he gives out a little growl to let the others know him and his mate were eating first. He sits on his hinds to look at Faye, "So how did the hunting go? Tell me the whole story, from the beginning." he says wanting something of a story at dinner to keep him entertained while he had his meal.

Faye~
I smiled happy for their return."Well it started out with me catching the scent.We came upon a couple deer a buck and a few doe`s.This doe was sickly,so we chose her.The male turned out to be a great hunting partner.I went for the jugular while he went for the leg.It was dead within a matter of minutes."I told the story,puffing out my chest a bit.I was quite proud of how we handled the hunt.I began pacing awaiting the pup`s and the males(forgot his name) safe return.

Having strolled into the clearing at Kihs side Mystery gave out a few barks of her own to show they had returned, yipping softly and swaying her tassle fom side to side in greeting to Faye as she made her way over to the deer carcass that awaited them. The scent of the meal beneath her flooded her nares as she leaned down to sniff at it and the second she heard Kih ripping into the ribs of the doe her hackles ruffled lightly and she gave out a hungry growl as she shifted on her pads. Baring her enamels slightly she dug into the ribs also beside Kih, placing a pad on the carcass to hold it down as they tore into the flesh.

Kihyah smiles listening to the tail of the hunt as they feasted upon the doe's rib cage, the most tender and juiciest meat held there but after taking several strips he starts to work on getting some of the meat normally used in venison being some of the tastiest he rips off a long piece and gives it to Mystery as an offering before turning to retrieve a part of his own to take on with his molars now. Enjoying the savory juices that were filling his maw with each mashing his teeth inflicted upon the muscle fibers. " You did excellent Faye..." he slides Faye a rib bone so that she would have the marrow as something to tide her over until they were finished. "...but where is the pup and that other wolf Jeaunu?" he asks raising a brow in her direction.

Mysterys growling slowly turned to deep murrs as she filled her belly, having to pick around a few things that caused her stomach to turn and her snout to wrinkle but the fact that it was night and she didnt feel sick at all helped a lot when it came to eatting. When Kih offered her a large strip of flesh she smiled and touched her nose to his before taking it from him and lowering her frame slowly to the terra to enjoy the piece offered to her. The mistress listened as her mate talked to Faye and hearing him ask where the pup and the new brute were her orbs shift up to gaze toward Faye and await her answer.

Paradise~
I look up "Mystery, Kiyah." I said in a whisper. "Kihyah." I hugged his leg. "Mystery...." i went to hug her but then I stop I back up and slow whines escaped my throat I forgot she hates me I lowered my ears against my skull sadly.

Kihyah had watched as the young pup had made her presence known, having promptly come over to them both to announce their names. He tears off some of the strip that he had already partially chewed and gives it to her, being such a young pup her teeth were not strong enough yet to rip through such tough meat. He smiles as she hugs his leg but frowns when she looks at Mystery in the way she did. He puts his muzzle near her butt and scoots her towards Mystery, "Go on now. Remember, she doesn't hate you. She's just trying to teach you how to survive and you know what, if she didn't care about you...well she wouldn't be teaching you. Understand?" he asks, his tone never one to belittle the pup but always just to make sure she had understood what he was trying to get across to her as sometimes he could be a little confusing.

~Paradise~
I guess I have a lot to learn...." i said and hugged her a bit then tear into the meat a bit taking little by little "Okay then." I said and smiled a faded smile.

Having watched as the pup had hugged her mates leg then whined when she had looked over at her Mystery sighed, curling her tassle around her hinds as her Kih talked to the pup. Once paradise had hugged her she run her ribbon tongue over the pups forehead, smiling lightly when she saw the pink left where she had licked from the blood on her tongue. Mystery went back to eatting then, picking slowly at the carcass as she she cleaned some bones.

Kihyah chuckles softly seeing the pink flare that the pups fur now held, " Well you have a lot of time to learn it in if you just pay attention." he smiles and leans down to lick at the pups a few times making the strip fade a little before he'd turn back to Mystery to start cleaning at her face. Graciously cleaning all over it, down her muzzle and along her chin even up over her crown before stopping to lick his chops having satisfied his hunger he stands and move away from the deer to indicate that he was finished with it so that the others could start having their fill now as well knowing he had made them wait quite a while but it had been a true test of character out of both of them. He knew Faye was fitting in perfectly and there were a few bumps along the way with the pup. But he figured that was to be expected too, he wasn't exactly the easiest youngster to raise either. So he knew patience was something that was required and if one didn't have it well they had to work at it or they had no right raising pups. He smiles thinking of the heart beats he had heard inside of her stomach, his tail wags softly behind him as he enters the den to lay down for the night.

Jeaunu then comes out of the forest and into the den, after following the young pup for the past few hours. "I am so sorry but I thought I should go out with the pup to protect her, since there are so many dangers out there she doesn't know about" Seeing that everyone was starting to eat the carcass Jeaunu goes in and rips off a huge peice of the side and then starts to eat it.

Faye~
I sighed with content as my jaws wrapped around the bone.The little bits of meat on there were rippped off.I went in for the meat and gulped it down.THen I returned to my bone and dragged it into the den.Once in the den I lied down and chewed at it.I loved bones,they were the best part for me.

Knawing on a bone when Mystery felt her mate cleaning at her face she murred, leaving the bone as her auds dropped in relaxation and she lifted her crown to his licks. The mistress tilting her crown this way and that depending on where Kih was grooming at her face her jades closed as her tassle slowly swayed behind her. When she felt his grooming cease her orbs fluttered open to look toward her Kih and watching as he rose to his pads she lifted her frame up off the terra, taking a step forward to rub noses with him as she gave him a silent thank you for cleaning her. The fae tredded softly beside her mate as they made their way toward the den but seeing out of the corner of her vision that the stranger brute was eatting before Faye she instantly dropped her auds, giving out a low warning growl to the male as he was out of line when it came to feeding. Shaking out her derma as her mate lied in the den and she joined him, lieing on her back infront of him as she asked him to lick her tummy silently just because.

Kihyah's head had lifted when he heard his mates growl, audits rotating forward on top of his dial as he searched for the cause of the disturbance. A deep growl escaped him as well when he caught the perpetrator, the foreign wolf was out of his place taking any food and he was about to rise to address the situation when his mate laid herself beside him and whimpered softly. He snorts solidly indicating his irritation by the gesture of disrespect towards Faye, she was part of the pack and therefore above him in rank. He should be eating last and was quite agitated by his actions but his lover wanted him to lick at her belly and he was more then willing to oblige her request, leaning down to lick at the swollen stomach as his eyes remained fixated on the other brute male as his tail flicked behind him indicating his annoyance at the situation that was not correcting itself. Bothering him too much to take anymore, he raises his head and charges the other male his lips pulling back from his glistening ivories as a snarl ripped heavily at his throat snapping his saliva dripping snare towards the brutes fores to merely chase him off not wanting to start an all out war just trying to get the point across that it was NOT his turn to eat.

Jeaunu is taken aback when Kihyah growls at him, but the he realizes his mistake and drops the meat and backs away from the others whimpering.

Kihyah's charge stops and he trots a few times around the kill, shaking his dial a few times not like in the motion of saying no but almost as if sneezes were taking over his muzzle however that was not the case. It was just a show of his dominance, shaken a little in his standing he goes over to either side of the den lifting his leg to mark it with his urine. A strong odorous ammonia scent that filled the nostrils and told the other male that he had indeed stepped out of line before he'd make his way back into the den snorting a few times at his mate to tell her his annoyance with the other wolf's actions. However he was glad that the male had backed down and it hadn't erupted in a fight with the brute, it showed respect and had spoken mounds on the other wolf's character. It had been clear after awhile that the males show of disrespect had only been a misstep on his part so he wouldn't hold it against the other, plus now he was laying down next to his mate again. Starting to lick at the soft fur at her belly and murrs coming out of his throat it was as if the incident had never happened, his hairs laying down and his entire frame of muscles were relaxing underneath his silver pelt.

Faye~
I smiled happy that Kihyah was so alert.I wouldn`t have even noticed it if Kihyah hadn`t pointed it out.My teeth grinded back and fourth against the bone.I sighed tired from the gnawing I stood up and walked over to the mouth of the cave.I lied down rested my head upon my paws.It was a peaceful night,the were crickets squeaking.(or whatever they do)I turned my head to look upon Kihyah and Mystery.How nice it would be to have pups!They must be coming soon too by how Mystery was behaving

Having been startled by her mate up and charging toward the new brute Mystery flipped quickly back onto her stomach, getting a little lightheaded and dizzy from the sudden movement and she had to sit still and close her jades for a moment before she could look over to where ever her mate had gone. Her orbs fluttering open hearing his shear snarl and watching as he snapped at the brutes fores she squirmed uneasily. The mistress settled slightly though when Jeaunu backed down, dropping the part of the kill he had taking and stepping away. Her right aud dropped watching Kih circle the kill but once he went off to mark the den she relaxed more, rolling over to her side and resting her crown against the cave floor now that she knew a fight wasnt about to break out between the two. The onyx fae's orbs shifted toward the mouth of the cave as she heard Kih's snorting to her and she listened silently to him, just stretching her fores out toward him as she just wanted his attention for some reason. She felt a little greedy doing that but didnt really care much after he had lied back down with her and started licking at her belly again and she stretched her fores out infront of her, giving out a content sigh as she now rested her crown against Kih's fores.

Kihyah smiles murring heavily to his mate and licking her stomach affectionately, he whines and yips a little at the pups in her belly talking to them and telling them a bit about how wonderful their mother is and how they will be born in a good pack of wolves free from any harm or danger until they get older but promising to teach them how to protect themselves and the ones they will eventually love. After his talking the gentle licking continued at the tufts of fur there, he felt one of the pups kick him in the nose and he gave out a little playful growl, " I use that ya know." he laughs a little before continuing his soft murring as he nuzzles softly into the swollen bump of her belly. Coaxing the babes with a soft lullaby to leave their mother be with the kicking so that she could rest, he continued giving a few licks here and there until he couldn't feel anymore thrashing about inside of her. He turns to smile wide at his mate, his tail wagging proudly behind him as he was to be a dad soon and her a mom. They would make great parents, he just knew it and having the family support of the pack behind them he believed the pups had the best chances at survival here in paradise with them all.
