Starting to name the pups...

He murrs in reply to her comment about the sun doing its jump, his tassel slowly coming to a stop as he drifted in and out of sleep. He heard her tired sigh and knew he didn't have to stay awake, she too sounded a bit tired so he just let himself start relaxing for the nap. " I love you." he mumbles out to her and their pups as he falls asleep for the few minutes he needed for his power nap knowing full well the pups would probably wake him soon regardless but it would feel good to get some energy before the hunt he had to perform this evening so that they could eat and to keep her milk so the pups could eat too an important job that he had to be at his best for.

"I love you too.." The inky mistress mumbled back to her silver brute, already starting to fall asleep all cuddled up against her Kih and she could hear her pups sleeping peacefully. Letting a yawn part her jaws slightly for a moment a gentle whine escaped her before she buried her face back into the soft fur upon his neck and let herself fall into a light sleep.

He slept peacefully for a good half hour before the pups started to wake him, he opens his right eye to a foot in the mouth wondering what was going on it shoots over to find little miss Psyche trying to grab his audit for a rude awakening. When his tongue wrapped around her foot however she squealed surprised but then her tassel wags happily after quickly realizing it was only her father. He shifted slightly to see Kodak about to head out the door and he lets out a sharp bark, " KODAK! Get back here little man before I fetch you." he growls a little at the pup who had been contemplating his decisions before the growl that turned back around to come clambering back to his mother where he sat all grumpy looking for having been caught. Eclipse however was no where to be found and he quickly whimpers out only to hear her yip from his butt he moves his tail to find her hiding there looking up at him with a grin on her face. He laughs and smacks her lightly with his fluff of a tail as he slowly stretches to rid his muscles of the soreness that had built up in them while he slept.

Mystery jolted awake from her slumber hearing her mates sharp bark that clearly held her sons name to it, her crown having sprung up she shook it out to try and wake up even though her heart was pounding from her awakening. Watching as he son scuttled over to sit and pout beside her she smiled, leaning down to kiss him on the crown to atleast praise him for coming back like he did. Meanwhile the faes frame ached softly, it was a familiar feeling though so it didn't bother her. Stretching beside her Kih she gave out a quiet whine that came along with a yawn before she curled back into her Kihs back. Flickering an audit she wondered why she hadn't noticed before she had fallen asleep, shrugging to herself mentally she figured maybe it had just decided to make itself known. Setting her chin down on her mates side she perked an aud toward him, wondering if he already could tell that she would be going into heat within the next couple days. She wouldn't be surprised if he did when it came to his sense of smell if we wasn't distracted with the pups.

As he felt Mystery stretch beside him he turns to watch when his head is tackled by Eclipse, Psyche was now biting at his toes which tickled and made him kick lightly which in turn only made her do it more. Eclipse now was trying to hold onto her fathers audit as he tried to nip Psyche away from his feet and paw Eclipse off of his ear. Kodak pranced up to his mothers side and laid beside her happy to be near her instead of his father who he was still sore at, but Kihyah knew it wouldn't be long before his son forgot all about getting scolded soon and would join in he was a pup who loved to rough house with his sisters too much to let his pouting to last much longer. The silver brute decided enough was enough from the girls and flopped over to play dead, his tongue lolling out the side of his mouth and all wasn't working as well as he had hoped for since they both weren't falling for it and just continued their rampage upon their father at which he picked up a paw and held Psyche down who squirmed to get free from underneath it while he pulled Eclipse finally off his crown to lay her between his fores so he could tickle her belly with a few licks to it. But that was right when Kodak made up his mind to join and pounced onto his dads stomach causing him to loose his wind, the little scoundrel started at his father lock jawed before jumping down to get his sisters while Kihyah tried to catch his breath. Man that pup is evil, he thought to himself as he panted to regain his breath. However now the three were busy with themselves and it was time for him to head out, turning to his lover he rises to his peds to shake out. " I better be going if I want to catch us anything proper for dinner." he says leaning down to nuzzle his mate while he passes her headed for the opening of the den.

Mystery had watched her girls bombard their father for a few minutes, laughing lightly as he squirmed and struggled in trying to get the little black balls of fur off of him. When her son came and decided to lay out next to his Mom she smiled softly, leaning down to show him some attention as she started to run her pink ribbon along his fine fur to give him a proper cleaning there beside her. Once she was finished though and he bounded off only to pounce on his Dads stomach and knock the wind out of him the fae couldn't help but chuckle. Her auds perked forward as her mate pulled himself up to his peds, Kodak having gone to play with his sisters as Kih made his way toward her and spoke. "Alright babe, be careful." The mistress breathed, Murring gently as he muzzled into her and she kissed his maw a few times before watching him start to head off.

He trots out of the den opening and off to the left the clear scent of the herd of elk that was currently living in Yellowstone for the season ripe on the wind. He stops and looks back to the opening of his home sighing softly before turning to head after those elk again, his heart aching with every paw print he made not wanting to leave his mistress behind again...ever since the two had met they hunted as a pair. The first time they had it was like two halves of a wolf coming together, she was his eyes and speed and he was her sense of smell and brute strength. It was more then difficult hunting without her, it was part of why he had lived in the swamp where she met him things there were slower and much easier to kill not really a chance of dieing there. But here...here he was way out of his league half the time having to settle with bringing home fish and mice perhaps the occasional deer when he was able to catch it an elk was mad on his part but he wanted a nice proud kill to bring home. He was a father, it was his duty to provide for his family and any bit of lacking at it on his part didn't make him feel great that was for sure. He wanted his kids to remember him like he remembered his father, bold and brave...able to take on anything as long as it was a fair fight. He moves into the plains between the hills moving a little more swiftly now knowing he still had a ways to go, he blinks hard looking out he sees some dark mounds but finally see's that they are nothing more but dirt hills made by some kind of prairie dog. He had originally thought they were the elk laid out, which had been weird seeing as the scent had seemed more distant which was why he had braved walking into the valley in the first place.

Stretching out on her side the small fae watched her restless pups, toppling over one another and yipping away as they all rough housed. Smiling as the girls started to double team Kodak she chuckled, one pouncing on his back while the other would attack his ears. At one point when he had gotten pinned he had yelped out for his Mothers help and she just giggled, telling his sisters to give him a fair chance. After awhile the femme rolled slowly onto her belly, deciding to get the pups something so they would have something more productive to do. Pulling her petite frame up onto her long peds the fae shook out her pelt of any debris it might hold before gelding towards the entrance of the den. When the pups caught on that she was leaving they soon bounded towards her, wanting to follow but she stopped them, giving the little ones a yip in a stay and they did, scuttling off back deeper into the den. Smiling lightly the femme just went a little ways from the den to find a fat, slow mouse in the long grasses to take back and introduce to the pups.

Slipping through the tall grasses of the plains his mind continues to run through memories past, remembering her happening upon him in the swamp his favorite memory of all. She had been just as great a huntress then as she is now, having stumbled upon his lands oh about a year or more now. Literally saving him from himself, he had been a lone wolf in that swamp for years before she had happened upon him. He was cold to the world, just as dark and mean looking as the area he had claimed for himself when she had found him. Not handsome in the slightest or anywhere near alpha material when she met him there was no reason for either of them to fall in love, him an outcast since he was a pup and her this beautiful fae who could have anyone in the world choose him. He had been nothing before her, now he was an alpha the pride owner of his own large territory that any wolf would be proud to claim as his home and a gorgeous family all because of her and their love for one another. She was incredible and inspired him to do so much that this was one of those things, sometimes he became reckless when she wasn't around and he felt like doing something incredible for her. This time though he was sure it would be different, he was determined as he entered the small wood at the end of the valley that he would snag himself a prize that his family would marvel at for days to come. He gradually slowed finally coming to the end of his journey to the elk, he could smell then a few yards off now but had an even harder time picking them out from the surrounding forest there was only one thing to do...he charged them.

Slowly making her way back towards the entrance of the den the fae found herself mindlessly rubbing up against any brush or tree that was within reach, marking it with her scent and once she started to grow closer to the entrance finding a few spots to mark with her urine. The mistress held the mouse still in her maw, its heart pounding away as she held it gently but the thing would just have to wait until she was done. It was more of an instinctive drive that made her do such a thing, not really wanting to but since she would be going into heat her body told her to so as to tell others of such a thing. Finally tredding back into the den her pups were instantly at her heels, jumping up and trying to sniff at whatever was in their mothers jaws. Plopping down to the terra she let the mouse free, watching as Psyche surprisingly was first to grab the thing between her paws.

The elk were not happy with his technique at all, they belched out those horrible calls they let out when danger presented itself. It was hard to make them out but one in particular passed by close enough for him to get a good smell and look to know it was the one he wanted, he went about his charge through the woods finally stopping after he was a good few miles down wind of the elk before he headed back hoping his idea hadn't cost his family dinner. Luckily enough when he returned they were all back to lazing about on the cool woods grasses while laying back down figuring the wolf had just passed through, he searched for the elder buck he had found before until finally finding him. Kihyah was not the one for stealth like his counter part, he could only really get away with it for so long being the color he was made it difficult in the warmer months but he still managed. Staying close to the think underbrush of the forest he moves close to the ground quietly making his way closer and closer until he was right where he wanted to be, he sends out a howl as he darts from the coverage he had. The elk stampede around him, he jumps as one almost comes down to his left almost nearly on top of him. His heart pounds as his adrenaline races and he grins wickedly to show those pearly whites of his as he prepares to lunge onto the back of the elderly buck.

Mystery just watched quietly as her pups all tethered around Psyches fores to sniff at the little creature she held, when she thought it wouldn't move she slowly let her paws up and the poor thing darted for it. Running sadly in the wrong direction though as the fae was blocking the entrance all three pups bounded after the thing, yipping and trying to pounce on it. Kodak was next to get it, catching its tail between his teeth only to thrash it around as he growled and the mouse ended up slamming into the wall of the den, having slipped from the pups grip.

The silver brute leaps through the air and lands on the back of the buck, his teeth instantly latching down on the males neck as it falls to the ground from the wolf's initial leap onto the creature. It screams that awful call again which hurts his ears but it only pushes him to kill the thing quicker, so his jaw tightens around the bucks larynx more and more until all it could produce was a soft almost breathless call as its kicking became slower and slower. The elk that had been part of the herd were now gone, they knew as well as Kih did that the buck was at the end of its days but it didn't go out without a fight as it gave up one last hard thrash around before falling still in death. He lets it drop from his maw for a moment so he could ground his peds a little better and taking hold of its neck again starts to drag it back, not very heavy as it was a much older elk and didn't have a lot of weight to it but it would be enough for them both for several days. His tail wagged proudly behind him as he continued his trek home which now would take double if not triple the time as it took him to get out there but that was why he had headed out when he did by the time dusk came he would be home with supper for everyone.

Eclipse, growling lowly, finally got her turn with the little creature, snatching it up in her maw and starting to gnaw her razor sharp canines into the mouses spine. It squealed lightly, its eyes bugging out of its head until finally the fae perked her audits forward hearing the soft snap of its spine breaking. The pup slowly put the mouse down, instantly having a paw over its limp body as she thought it might try to run off still. When she eventually lifted her paw though her brother and sister crowded around only so all three of them could paw at the lifeless thing.

He continues to pull the carcass when he runs into a very VERY hungry lion mountain by the looks of it, slowly it began to circle him and the prey. Dropping the neck he readies himself to defend it, this was his kill by all rights and his family needed it rather then fish or mice so he lowers his frame slightly and moves slowly around the dead buck as he kept it between himself and the predator. He snarls watching as the feline got brave enough to run forward and grab the neck trying to drag it off thinking Kih would back down knowing it had the advantage however he wasn't backing down, instead he jumps the cat with a growl and a sharp bark. It turned, he realized it was a girl and he was starting now to think twice about his decision. Males he could take, but females were strong and quick plus they had a wit about them he usually couldn't combat and he was reminded of that when instead of coming down with his teeth on her he got a rib cage full of claws trying to pierce him to his heart. He howls out in agony from the pain as the female mountain lion clawed away fiercely as if he were her own personal scratching post. He finally was able to kick her in the face, forcing herself to take some time to regain herself giving him the time to attack her. Taking hold of her neck she roared, he had never known a girl could do that and it almost scared him into running away and leaving the kill for her...but again his family still at the forefront of his mind he was determined to get their dinner back. So as he shook his head at her through she continued to claw at him, they had reached a certain stalemate between one another at this point. If either repositioned the chance was good he or she were dead, so they fought viciously rolling about the dirt as he drew more blood and so did she. Finally they were ripped from one another just from a tumble they took and he stood quickly ready for more even though now they both had quite an extensive amount of blood dripping from them both.

Watching her pups now play with the fat mouse as they tossed it about she let her audits slowly rotate backwards, towards the entrance of the den as she listened for her Kih in hopes he would be home soon. Her chest and bones ached, not the same feeling she had had earlier, no this was different.. something was wrong. Whimpering lightly the femme turned her crown towards the den entrance, cupping her auds forward but she couldn't hear a thing, he was probably too far out to be able to hear and she couldn't leave her pups here alone if she was going out that far. Lowering her audits her stomach twisted, her jades flickering through the trees uselessly.

The mountain lioness called it quits, deciding he was too much trouble for the sake of one meal. She sprints off quickly trying to escape him as he had already lunged towards her not knowing her intentions other then she wanted his families food. However when she ran from him he stayed put to watch her high tail it off to the woods where the elk had scattered for his attack, still having adrenaline racing through his veins from the fight he wanted to get the food home. Picking up the neck he starts to drag it again, it masks how much blood he's loosing because it too was draining of blood while he pulled it across the ground so it covered any of his blood trail. Finally he has it almost all the way across the valley when the fight finally catches up to him. He stumbles a bit, dizzy and shakes his head out for a moment having dropped the elk then he realizes just how fast his heart is pounding at his chest. He lays down next to the kill and whimpers softly as he turns to see the large wounds that covered his back, side and chest. His pink tongue rolls out to start licking them seeing how much blood was pouring out of his wounds, crap he thought to himself...crap, crap CRAP this wasn't good. He rose against everything in his head that told him to stay put, grabbing the neck of the elk again to pull him up the small range hill back towards there den which was getting closer and closer as he went. It was his only hope at this point, to get home...but he again would not leave his kill.

Glancing back at her little ones and seeing them still playing with the mouse and actually starting to pick at it slightly the fae rose to her peds, tredding outside just a little ways and letting her nares flare as she scented the air. The strongest scent was her own in the area, her markings still giving off her scent from a bit earlier but other than that she could barely pick up anything other than the normal scents of the forest around them. Whimpering the fae paced the entrance, her auds rotating and flickering as she listened for any sign of anything and every minute or so her nares would twitch, to no use of course.. but her instincts screamed something was wrong and she couldn't ignore it.

The big stubborn brute finally gets over the crest of the small hill when he heard a strange noise, it blared a BEEP BEEP through the woods and he blinked when it crashed out of the woods near him. That was when it was time for him to leave the kill, he runs like mad...humans again why couldn't they just leave him alone. This time he did a great job at leading them away from the den, they screamed at him and tried several times to lasso him around the neck each time he would dodge it by ducking behind a tree. He was getting slow though as his injuries caught up to him, he turns when he feels something bite him in the rump. He recognizes it from the night the strange things had shown up around their necks and it wasn't long before the male hit the earth with a resounding thud. He panted looking up as the car stopped beside him, he couldn't move as they lifted him onto the back of the contraption that made so much noise and then he was out cold before he could even find out what they were up to. The one thing that did cross his mind as he faded into the black was that he hoped his family at least got the dinner he worked so hard for.

Mysterys pacing suddenly came to a stop when the loud beeping shot through the air and the loud crashing that followed sounded all to familiar. Her pupils contracting slightly as her heart began to race she slipped back into the den with ease, yipping to her pups and they left their new play toy to follow their mother back as deep as they could go inside. Kissing all three of them tenderly she whimpered, begging them to stay quiet and not move and they all seemed to slink down to just lay with each other. Sighing lowly she muzzled her face against them before again tredding out into the open. Once out the fae broke into a flat out sprint, nares flaring as she ran and the scent of humans flooded her nares. Finding a abandoned kill then she stopped only to lower her crown and pick up the scents that clung to it, whining when she did and caught Kihs scent. The femme trotted towards the sound of the crashing, her footfalls and breathing going silent as the faes auds pinned back against her skull.

The humans took him to a small ranger shack in what a human would call the middle of nowhere, they quickly lifted the silver brute out of the vehicle and into the small shed looking building that really just housed a ranger for most of the warmer season to watch for poachers and wild fires. " Get him on that table." one said hurriedly as she shut the door behind her, the table was instantly knocked free of papers and old tin mugs that clattered to the floor. One of the males who had been carrying him instantly grabbed another sack and set up a mini I.V. and getting it attached to the brute. " I can't believe we're doing this." The other girl squealed from the corner excited, " This is like all those Nancy Drew novels I read growing up as a kid, the adventure of the monster wolf they'd call this one." The other woman who had now drawn her black bag open pulled out some things that to any other creature would've looked like tools of torture but they were really just some clamps, scalpels and sutures to patch the male up. " You need to shut up and help...we're not even supposed to be out here. If the director finds us we loose this grant and this wolf so lets get moving before anyone notices what we're up to, okay?" she asked the girl nodded and crossed over to her. " No you're going to watch for anyone coming...David here's going to help me get this beast patched up quick." The girl mumbles something about how she could help too before slinking over to the windows to look out at Yellowstone, turning to stick her tongue out to the other girl before returning her gaze to the window.

Following the humans vehicle was the easy part, it smelled of some horrid scent and was easy to track even when it got away from her. The fae watched from the shelter of a few shadows as the humans pulled her mate from the back of the vehicle, her heart dropping when she saw him, trembling atop her pedistals. What had they done to him? He was absolutely covered in blood, his beautiful silvery pelt stained with the crimson liquid that clung to it. Heat rolled up the mistresses spine, her hackles standing on end along with the fur that ran up her nape and crown. Her audits were flat against her skull, tassel flicking as pure rage flooded over her while she watched them take him into their little wooden home. She didn't care if they saw her now, if they did then good. She wasn't going to stand for this, let alone run along and leave. How dare they even touch him. Low rumbling growls emerged from her chest, bubbling up her throat only to escape through bared enamels. She stalked silently up to the building other than the growls that flooded out of her, picking up her pace only to plant her fore paws against the thing that opened up to the entrance of the place, running her talons along it a few times before leaving it to pace the house.

" Holy crap!" yelled the girl at the window, " Um...guys..." she started backing away from the window as she was scared what the black wolf outside might do when the scraping came at the door next everyone jumped. " What the heck was that?!" asked the woman who was now almost drenched in the wolf's blood as she continued to work on him. The guy prepared himself to head for the door when the woman pulled him back, " Whatever it is will have to wait. If you don't watch that clamp he'll bleed out." she said with almost a growl in her voice. " God you really love this wolf don't you." said the girl inching back to the window when the sounds had stopped to see the fae wolf pacing outside. " This wolf is the only one I've seen of this stature before and unlike professor I will let the thing die because I can't step in on 'Gods design' doesn't seem to be able to comprehend that he's an entirely different breed of wolf one I'm guessing was thought extinct or never discovered before now. We can't let him die because now he has pups that can carry on his blood they aren't pure like him they have that other wolf in them as well even the male looks nothing like its father." she huffs before wiping at her brow having finally gotten the worst of them closed off. " His son looks like a timber wolf, not the distinguishing marks of his father...I'm guessing some timber wolf but there's no way a timber wolf can get this big." The girl at the window sighed, " You know...I have a feeling that this may just be his mate out here...how sad too, bet she thinks he's dead." she said almost playfully, the girl was something of a ditz like that. " Give him more sedatives, I don't want to risk him waking up then and calling her in here. Besides I think we all know what happened the last time he wasn't sedated properly."

Her pacing only made her drive to get inside worse, her tassle flickering and every now and then she would hold it up high in her pacing. Low snarls now escaped her as her pelt ruffled and her pupils contracted more. The amber that held the black orb burned brighter than the jade that surrounded it. Seeing movement from a clear piece of the house that allowed view from she outside the fae stopped suddenly, her orbs shifting only for her crown to follow as she locked her gaze with the human girl. Her lips pulled back over her canines, only for her ribbon to slip between the fangs to run across them. In a matter of seconds the femme was in a full out sprint towards the window, just tall enough to slam her fore pads against the glass and with her momentum watching as it cracked beneath them. Her nares flared with her heavy breaths, leaving foggy marks on the glass that was still intact as the breathed against it. She stayed like that for a moment, keeping her gaze locked with the girls before she caught sight of her Kih and her orbs shifted. For a few moments all of her rage was gone from her, her pelt lied flat and a desperate, helpless whimper escaped her. She dropped down from the window.

The girl had screamed when the black wolf had charged the window, the guy looked over to jump when the wolf landed on the window pane and it cracked. " dang did you see that Susan?" he asks turning to the woman who was working on the wolf, " Not now Brad..." she said still working on the silver brute and finally biting the last bit of thread to finish up and she sighed letting herself collapse into the wooden chair behind her. "...there he's done. Let's get a few bags of blood in him, he lost a lot and I want to make sure he recovers from this quickly...don't need a sitting duck out there and what's that wolf doing now?" she asks as she looks over to the window finding it cracked looking almost like a spider web caught in the sun. " She's just kind of watching him." she says turning to point to the gray wolf who was still laying on the table. Where the I.V. bag had been a bag of red blood went up instead as the man switched out the bags. " Must be his mate...she have the pups with her perhaps we can give them shots while we're here." said Susan who almost stood when she saw the girl shaking her head vigorously near the window. " Pups aren't here and I don't think that would be a really good idea right now...she's pretty ****** off about us having him and I'm sure we don't exactly look like his savior what with all the blood we've got on us now." The woman field surgeon who had fixed Kihyah up stood moving over to pump some water into a tub and clean herself up, once he starts to wake we'll leave out the back after opening the front for her. He'll be enough of a distraction for her that we'll be able to get away without her trying to kill us." she said as she scrubbed at her blood stained hands trying to get them clean of the wolf blood. " A couple of hours here and he'll be good to go back to his family lets just hope he knows enough not to pull those stitches out."
